Disability Supported Employment |

A core aim of Help Enterprises is to provide meaningful supported employment for people who have a disability, within our own businesses. To achieve this, Help Enterprises is funded by the Australian Government as an Australian Disability Enterprise and supported employment is available within Manufacturing and Packaging & Assembly at Eagle Farm, or Horticulture at Mitchelton.
Supported employees within these divisions are paid award-based wages, following an assessment of productivity and competency. Employees are provided with training to ensure that they develop the skills needed to be successful at their job and can work safely.
The type of jobs and tasks for supported employees include:
Manufacturing:
- Using hand and power tools like drills
- Linishing
- Operating a press
- Welding
- Cutting
Packaging & Assembly:
- Counting and sorting
- Heat sealing
- Operating a press
- Assembling retail displays
Horticulture:
- Potting
- Weeding
- Fertilising
- Driving a tractor
