For the past 24 years Ian Hyman, friends and business colleagues have been raising money for charity that supports people with an intellectual disability. The annual lunch is well known in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for being the ‘Sportsman’s Lunch’ and has traditionally been able to garner the support of Rugby Union, Rugby League, AFL and Cricket legends, along with many of Australia’s high profile politicians.
Help Enterprises has been the beneficiary of the Hymans Charity Lunch events since 2016, raising over $349,000 to date for enhancing the lives of people with disability.
In 2017, we had a tremendous turnout, with over 400 people joining us for lunch to listen to Olympic greats, Duncan Armstrong and Steven Bradbury. The lunch raised almost $100,000 for Help Enterprises to support the work we do in our disability community.
More recently, the 2018 Hymans Charity Lunch saw a record $159,600 raised - with special host Leisa Goddard and guest speakers, Andrew Slack and David Croft.

Every year, our McIntyre Centre takes the opportunity to thank all current sponsors, donors and volunteers for their very generous contributions throughout the year. Lunch at the Stables is a refreshed format to allow for a wider range of supporters to attend and to showcase the wonderful opportunities for people with disability at our McIntyre Centre.
We have some very generous event sponsors who support our event, including Fire N Dough and our very own social enterprise Fison Food Factory.

Run by the Moggill Mt Crosby Lions Club, the Ipswich 100 Bike Ride has been an annual fixture in our calendar since 2015. Each year we assist this wonderful community event, providing lead and sweep cars for the 25km ride and have a stand to talk with participants about our services for people with disability. Our McIntyre Centre is a recipient of the funds donated and raised through the ride.

The charitable golf day is run by the Indooroopilly Golf Club's Ladies Committee, who have been big supporters of our McIntyre Centre since 2015. On the day, the committee runs a raffle that we are one of the proud beneficiaries of and they also regularly donate raffle prizes for our Annual Hymans Charity Luncheons. It's a relationship that we value having with the Club and their Ladies Committee.
