The Sunrise Is Always Worth It
21st September 2020
I went for a bike ride this morning. It was hard to get out of bed when my alarm went at 4:30 as it was dark, cold and I was tired.
I do this 3 mornings a week. Despite the challenges it is a routine I like, as no matter how hard it is to get out of bed, the sunrise is always worth it.
Exercise clears my head. Sometimes I ride solo when I just want to be alone with my thoughts and work something out. Sometimes I ride with a small group when some company and sharing of stories often helps too. The common sense of purpose riding with a group is invigorating. All working together to achieve a goal of getting to a destination faster, safely and together.

This sense of routine helps me structure my week, and the days that I ride are generally positive for me long after the exercise has finished.
What is your routine that helps you stay positive? How can you take some time out of your week to structure something that will help you mentally and perhaps even physically?
Including others in your routine can also help with your motivation. Sharing ideas along the way, no matter the challenge in front of you is often a way to gain inspiration, and help others too.
Routine can control us if we let it, but it can also provide a structure to enable new ideas and opportunities to blossom. There are opportunities for everyone, even during difficult times like those we have endured recently. Routine can assist us to find them amongst the challenges and stay positive.
